Maine Driving Dynamics Course
with ME Driving Dynamics
Maine Driving Dynamics is a Maine sponsored five hour defensive driving course that offers all drivers the opportunity to improve their defensive driving skills. Course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. It is taught by a certified Maine Driving Dynamics instructor in a format that engages students with lectures, videos, and class discussion/participation.
Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record and students 55 and older can receive an insurance discount from their insurer. More importantly, students taking this course will be safer drivers.
Making Braclets with Sea Glass

Beautiful pieces of natural sea glass are turned into wearable art in this class. Learn some of the basics of jewelry making as you create bracelets out of sea glass.
Sea glass and wire will be provided by the instructor but feel free to bring your own pieces. Students should bring their needlenose pliers to class. Some will be available for use for those who do not own a pair. Price includes a $15 materials fee.
Lynne Thompson has been creating sea glass jewelry since 1996 after moving to New Harbor, Maine.

Medicare and Understanding It

This course will review the following areas: when you are eligible for Medicare benefits; the timeline to enroll for Medicare benefits without penalties; what original Medicare covers and does not cover; and what additional plans are available that work in conjunction with original Medicare. Financial assistance options will also be discussed briefly.
Robert Harvey is a licensed Life and Health agent with offices in Brunswick and Scarborough Maine. He has been assisting clients with reviewing and enrolling in individual health insurance plans and transitioning on to Medicare coverage for the last 10 years.

Middle Eastern Dance (Belly dancing)

Middle Eastern Dance, also called Belly dancing, or in Europe, La Danse Orientale, is native to the ancient Middle East. It was widely spread by migrations of Rom and other tribal peoples, from India, north to Turkey and west to Spain – with Egypt becoming a renowned center of the art form in modern times. In our global age, Cairo now as well hosts respected dancers from Asia, Europe and the USA.
Belly dancing gives gentle, strengthening exercise to the whole body with an emphasis on the belly and thighs. This class will introduce torso movements and rhythms fundamental to this art form. Students will try dancing with scarves and veils! Wear loose, comfortable clothing or dance wear and please bring a large scarf for the hips.
Patti Luchetti has studied Oriental Dance for 25+ years with such stars as Katia of Boston, Morocco of NYC and most recently, Cassandra of Minneapolis. Natural Wreath Making

In this one night class participants will have the chance to make a medium wreath to adorn their front door or mantle. Bittersweet, dried grasses, grapevines, eucalyptus, seed pods as well as home grown dried plant material can be combined to make something really special. Bring your natural materials, gloves and clippers. If you do not have these items do not fret as the instructor will bring extra. Material fee will cover base for each participant, ribbon, wire and dried plant material. No experience required! Price includes a $5 materials fee.
Debra Arter has been creating wreaths for all occasions for herself and others for many years. Her wreaths have won blue ribbons at the Union and Windsor Fairs.
Nia: Mindful Dance Fitness - Session 1

Through Nia, you can discover, explore, and enhance your potential to live a healthy and meaningful life by engaging your senses and listening to your body. Nia combines martial arts, dance, and mindful movement to leave you energized, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced. Nia is non-impact and adaptable to individual needs and abilities. Each class starts with setting a focus. We will then warm up, dance our hearts out, and cool down, ending class with movement on the floor, followed by meditation, and stepping back out into daily life.
Session 1: Effortless Grace – Experience full-body conditioning and core strengthening to support you in moving through your days with more ease and less effort.
Anna Fiedler is a certified Nia blue belt teacher who has taught Nia since 2007. She enjoys creating space for others to tap into their own power and well-being through movement.
