Hunter Safety: Firearm Skills and Exam Day
with Tim Knedler, Gray-New Gloucester Adult & Community Education
The Dept. of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's Hunter Education Course is more than a 'gun safety' class. The basic mandatory course is taught by trained, certified volunteer instructors according to statewide standards. The course is made up of an "at home" portion before the classroom instruction. #1 - Students must successfully complete the free online Official Maine Hunter Safety Course at: https://www.hunter-ed.com/maine/ #2 - Students print their voucher (that is valid for one year) and this will allow attendance at a Skills and Exam Day. Please make sure you print this voucher and bring it with you. #3 - Students register for the Skills and Exam Day! #4 - Students bring a complete survival kit with them to Skills and Exam Day. For more information on the survival kit, go to: https://www.hunter-ed.com/maine/studyGuide/Survival-Kit-Requirements-for-Maine/201022_700118753/
Please note: if you arrive at Skills and Exam Day without your voucher and survival kit, you will not be able to complete the course. No refunds will be issued.
Students should bring a snack/light lunch with them (as class work continues through lunch time) and dress to be outside.
Please call 657-9612 or email email@example.com with any questions.
Minimum age is 10 and students under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
