Who can resist the smell of fresh bread baking? In this one-night class we will learn how to mix, knead, proof and shape basic yeast dough. Participants will learn how to create cloverleaf rolls, butter crescents, cinnamon swirls, tea rings, whole-wheat and caramel pecan rolls as well as an economical savory braid that comes together quickly.
You will learn what gluten is all about! Various yeast bread recipes will be shared and discussed. Each student will go home with a basket of yummy warm samples. All baking levels are welcome for this hands-on class. Bring an apron, rolling pin, cutting board and two plastic tubs to fill and take home. Take this class and then show your bread prowess at your holiday dinner this year!!
Debra Arter has been teaching cooking classes to adults for nearly a decade. Her Home Ec. teacher mother instilled in her a love of creative and healthy food preparation. She has participated in many cooking contests and was a finalist for a trip to Italy with her original pasta carbonara recipe. Her love of inspired community building through cooking events is contagious.
