Exploring the Natural History of Lincoln County

This is a basic, exploratory course designed to help you feel both aware and knowledgeable about the natural history and features of the Lincoln County area. The course assumes that the student has no or minimal knowledge of natural history and our local area, but desires to appreciate the natural and human heritage of our region. Beginning with water and stone, and continuing through plants, animals and humans, students will learn how to find, identify, and enjoy the significance of our immediate area.
Stan L. LeQuire, a lifelong nature guide and teacher, will lead the course. Stan L. LeQuire is a life-long naturalist. He enjoys teaching sustainable development to college students. In addition, he researches best practices of community-based ecotourism as a model for development.
