Please note: The location of this class has changed from what was printed in our brochure. The new location for this class is Great Salt Bay School in Damariscotta.

Creating a naturalist’s sketchbook is a hobby that requires minimal equipment and expense, but can bring great satisfaction and a fresh perspective on nature. Record your nature discoveries with pen and ink and watercolor to create a one-of-a-kind journal of your adventures in the wild.

Artistic talent is not necessary to create a naturalist’s sketchbook. All that is needed is a sense of wonder and a desire to learn more about the natural world. Treasures found during the instructor’s adventures in nature will be on display to sketch or you can bring your own.

Laurel Dodge has a master’s degree in environmental studies and has worked for nature centers, land trusts and a zoo. She is an illustrator and nature photographer.
