College Prep Math

This course progresses from the concepts and operations of basic math and geometry through college algebra preparation. Topics include whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percents, geometry, exponents, elementary algebra, and polynomial factoring.

The course prepares students for the Accuplacer Arithmetic and Algebra tests.

Reading & Writing Skills for College or the Workplace

This course is a must for any adult considering higher education or training.  Reading comprehension skills will be reviewed, including generating questions, answering questions, summarizing, participating in discussions, as well as responding both verbally and in writing to what you have read. You will learn to express your ideas in organized paragraphs and essays, with an emphasis on appropriate grammar and vocabulary. You will be guided through the process of conducting research, writing drafts, and composing a college level term paper. Course work will help students prepare for college and for the Accuplacer college placement test.
