This program does NOT contain a First Aid component. This program ensures that individuals with a duty to respond (public safety professionals, healthcare providers, and others with a duty to respond) have the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. Updated content that meets or exceeds the scientific recommendations developed by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and is consistent with the CPR and ECC Guidelines as established by the American Heart Association and other resuscitation councils around the world Clear, concise, and current information on what signs to look for and what treatment steps to take during an emergency, including how to perform CPR and use an AED Updated coverage of bloodborne and airborne diseases, including precautions to take in response to the COVID-19 pandemic A focus on soft skills, with additional coverage relating to team-based resuscitation. This program is accepted for continuing education credit by CAPCE and NREMT for EMS personnel, and by AGD/PACE for dental providers; the State of Maine accepts the program’s credits for licensing requirements. The course also is approved by, or meets the requirements of, JCAHO (Healthcare Providers); AAAASF (Ambulatory Surgery); ACSM (Sports Medicine); BCAT, NATA and NCSA (Athletic Trainers); DANB (Dental Assistants); NAEMSE (EMS); and NOLS (Wilderness EMT)

New and updated content on CPR, AED, epinephrine injectors (Epi-Pen®), hemorrhage control, opioid overdose response (Naloxone/Narcan®), compression-only CPR, and COVID-19. No class 5/7 or 5/14 during Pedi First Aid Module.

Did you know that the number of people turning to choosing Airbnb for lodging in Maine has almost doubled from two years ago? The revenue earned by Airbnb owners in Maine topped $100 million in 2020. If you have entertained the idea of opening up your guest bedroom or summer camp for short term rental, this is a class not to miss. The instructor, herself an Airbnb owner, has interviewed many other Airbnb or VRBO owners and put together a packet with good information, tips and actual stories of unusual events in the life of a short term landlord. This course will address issues dealing with ordinance, insurance, expectations, fees, hosting, guests, safety, communication, neighbors and more.

CLC Adult Education and LincolnHealth co-sponsor a FREE 130-hour minimum Certified Nursing Assistant training course. This CNA program is open to all adults by application only. Successful graduates are eligible to work in many areas of the healthcare field. The course is open to all adults by application and interview process. Applications are now available. You may call LincolnHealth Education (563-4540) to have an application packet sent to you. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED/HiSET in order to be considered for the course. *** Maine Health CNA Paid Apprenticeship Program *** (Subject to availability) Earn while you Learn Maine Health and Adult Education throughout the midcoast region are offering an “Earn while you Learn” opportunity. Through a paid apprentice program, you can earn money for your CNA training with an expected commitment to work in a care setting for 12 months. Apprenticeship candidates are eligible for benefits including health insurance. An application and interview are required to be considered for this program. Our community needs individuals who want to make a difference in a child's life. Maine Children with intellectual challenges, autism, and mental health disorders, as well as their families, depend on Children's Behavioral Health Services, and there is a huge need in our area! A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) is an essential member of a child's treatment team and has the chance to have an instant influence while assisting children in reaching their full potential. We are thrilled to provide this fantastic Blended training to our community. You will be equipped to work with children who need services while preparing yourself for employment with local social service agencies and/or school programs. Start whenever you choose, and go at your own pace. You have 6 months from your registration day to complete the course. You will complete 12 online modules, then participate in two Live sessions: BHP Live Day (8-9 hours offered in-person or virtually) and Ethical Considerations (2.5 hours offered virtually). You will also receive a stipend to obtain Child & Adult First Aid/CPR certification and free online training in blood-borne pathogens. Our free remote training program can get you certified and started in a career that will change your life in just 40 hours. Required: Must be a Maine resident and at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent to become certified. The state also requires that you take an inperson cpr/first aid class.. The cost of up to $100 will be reimbursed once you have completed the American Red Cross or American Heart Saver Course. Woodfords CPR/FA classes in Westbrook, Manchester and Brewer are free for all workforce learners. Jeffrey Carpenter, Workforce Recruitment Specialist for the State of Maine's Office of Child and Family Services through Woodfords Family Services, is here to help you through this learning opportunity by providing answers to questions and assistance with technical issues, should any arise. He is also a resource to connect you with service agencies once you have completed the training.
