Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

CLC Adult Education and LincolnHealth co-sponsor a FREE 130-hour minimum Certified Nursing Assistant training course. This CNA program is open to all adults by application only. Successful graduates are eligible to work in many areas of the healthcare field. The course is open to all adults by application and interview process. Applications are now available. You may call LincolnHealth Education (563-4540) to have an application packet sent to you. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED/HiSET in order to be considered for the course.

“Earn while you Learn”
LincolnHealth/CLC Adult Education and Midcoast School of Technology are offering an “Earn while you Learn” opportunity. Through a paid apprentice program, you can earn money for your CNA training with an expected commitment to work at one of the LincolnHealth or Pen Bay Medical Center facilities as a CNA for 12 months. Apprenticeship candidates are eligible for benefits including health insurance.

Naloxone (Narcan) Administration Training (March/Whitefield)
with Healthy Lincoln County

Keeping Naloxone (Narcan Nasal Spray) on hand can help save a life. Having a kit nearby could help a friend, family member, or someone in the community in the event of an emergency.
This Narcan administration training will guide you through how to use Narcan as well as helpful information on opioids and how Narcan interacts with these substances. This training is free, on behalf of Healthy Lincoln County–a tier two distributor of Narcan in the State of Maine. Upon completion of this training you will receive one kit, with two doses of Narcan, to add to your first aid kit or AED box. Additionally, you will receive supplemental resources to have on hand should you want to review what was discussed in the live training event.
Standard First Aid, CPR, AED Adult / Child / Infant (ECSI)

Note: This is a three-night course. Students must attend all three nights for certification.
The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as cardiac and respiratory emergencies; head, neck, and back injuries; concussion; shock; choking; stroke; seizures; anaphylactic shock (including use of Epi-Pen®); burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, diabetic emergencies, and heat and cold emergencies. This program teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Specialized US Coast Guard certification is available upon request.
Andrew Eckman recently retired after 44 years in emergency services (police, fire, EMS, and emergency management). He has been a medical instructor for more than 30 years and has trained several thousand participants in various life-saving skills.
Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) Recertification (April)

This is a review and re-testing for people who already hold a CRMA certificate and wish to renew their certification. This recertification course is a one day course, including review and recertification testing on that day. You must provide a copy of your current certificate along with your registration for this course.
Career Exploration

This is a four week course designed to help students explore future careers. Our focus will be on career and life goals. We will explore different careers, take personal assessments to help understand what may be a good career for you. We will also review resume writing skills, how to complete a job application, how to conduct yourself in an interview and how to look for and apply to college.
