Join Chef Chris Toy as he shows you how to prepare a sizzling mixed grill of teriyaki chicken, cedar planked maple salmon and pepper ribeye steak. And, we will not forget those grilled mixed vegetables with garlic, olive oil, and spices, plus a grilled dessert! Chris Toy is a Stonewall Kitchen Cooking Instructor with a lifelong interest in cooking with an Asian-Downeast fusion flavor.

Hunter Safety Online Class Jefferson

The Online Course requires that students complete the knowledge portion of the course online prior to attending the skills and exam sessions (2 classes). The online portion of the course takes approximately 7 to 9 hours to complete. Students complete quizzes and an exam as they do the online course and are provided with a voucher to attend the skills and exam sessions upon completion of the online exam. In the skills and exam sessions students must demonstrate to the instructor that they can safely handle a firearm, participate in activities, bring in a survival kit with appropriate contents and pass a 50 question test with a grade of at least 70%. Students must complete the online course and provide their voucher number to attend the skills and exam sessions. Students must also bring the voucher to the first class. Please visit www.hunter-ed.com/maine to complete the online portion of the course. Registration and payment are required in advance. Register early!

In the KNOW – In the DOUGH!

Who can resist the smell of fresh bread baking? In this one night class we will learn how to mix, knead, proof and shape basic yeast dough for loaves and rolls. Participants will learn how to create cloverleaf rolls, butter crescents, cinnamon swirls, tea rings and whole-wheat rolls as well as shape loaves of bread. You will see what gluten really looks like! Various yeast bread recipes will be shared and discussed. Students will go home with a basket of yummy warm samples. All baking levels are welcome for this hands-on class. Bring an apron, rolling pin, cutting board and a plastic tub to fill and take home. An $8 materials fee paid to instructor will cover cost of ingredients to eat and take home and bake.

Intermediate Hooping

Learn next-level skills, combos and techniques in this intermediate class designed for current hoopers who have practiced the basics and feel comfortable waist hooping, moving with a hoop and using a lighter hoop. We will cover off body tricks, tosses and rolls, core hooping: knees/shoulder/chest, breaks and reversals and more! This class will also be covering an introduction to multi-hooping; we will start to learn how to work with more than one hoop! Hoops are provided with the option to purchase. New England based hooper Nikki Hunt has been hooping for a decade and teaching hoop dance for the past six years.

Introduction to Essential Oils

Be ready to get hands on with DIY oil infused products each week to take home! Snacks provided as well. Come to this fun, relaxed class and learn why essential oils are such a big deal! Amber Beck is a work from home mom of two girls. Her journey with essential oils began six years ago as an effort to remove as many toxic products from her home for a safe environment for her family. Addie Joslyn is a stay at home mom of two boys. Her boys were the motivation to start living naturally and holistically by incorporating essential oils into daily life.

Lip and Cheek Coloring

This workshop is focused on lip shape, defining, color and contrast, highlighting and care. Cheek color and placement demonstration on a live model will also be part of the class. There is a $5 materials fee payable to the instructor the night of class.

Katie Hagar is a professional Merle Norman make-up artist and local hair stylist with five years experience.

Please note: Personal make-up brushes may be brought with you. Brushes should be cleaned prior to class with baby shampoo and water; dry thoroughly.
