These gentle movement sequences will help you work through chronic muscular or joint pain. This is not an exercise class, so loose fitting or stretchy casual clothes are appropriate. Due to the long waiting list from our fall class we are offering classes this semester! Learn the skills and techniques necessary to be a responsible, competent and fun babysitter in a one-day class. This course will cover such topics as: child care essentials, the proper response and handling of emergency situations, behavior management, safety for the sitter, and babysitting as a business.

Students should bring a lunch and a snack. Please do not bring any electronics or phones. For students ages 11-14. A certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course.

Register EARLY – this class fills up quickly! Please note: February 23 is during winter break and a no school day for students. Hardship discounts are available, call us. Two classes are being offered so choose a day!

Sometowns even hold “Coop Tours” of the charming and unusualhousing chicken owners have created. This class will teachyou the basics of small-scale chicken ownership. Topics willcover local ordinances, buying and raising chicks, coop sizeand design, health and safety, food and water, flock behaviorand equipment.

Sarah Ruef-Lindquist has been raising chickens in herbackyard since 2007. She and her husband Peter were instrumentalin changing Camden’s zoning ordinance to allow small flocks ofchickens on lots under two and a half acres.

Ballroom Dance

Join the party and learn to dance. Beginner ballroom dance will cover the basic steps for the waltz, foxtrot, tango, salsa, rumba, bachata and more. This class is intended for couples, but don’t let that stop you if you don’t have a partner–singles are welcome too! This six week class will give you the confidence to get up and dance the night away at that wedding or cruise that is on the horizon or simply to add a dance routine to your workout. Guaranteed great exercise to wonderful music. No street shoes, please! Bring shoes to change into.

Basic Bird-Watching

This is an introductory course designed to help you feel comfortable and proficient in one of the USA’s most popular hobbies. The course assumes that the student has only a minimal or no knowledge of birds but wants to acquire skills to identify birds by sight and sound. Students will learn how to find, identify, attract and enjoy the birds of the Midcoast area. The last class session is a walk along a local trail which will help you practice your new bird-watching skills. Recommended for class: a basic field identification guide to the birds of eastern North America and a pair of binoculars. These items are not required, but eventually, you may want to invest in these 2 items. Stan L. LeQuire is a life-long naturalist, guide and outdoorsman. He enjoys teaching sustainable development to college students. In addition, he researches best practices of community-based ecotourism as a model for development.

Beginner Hooping

Interested in learning basic hooping skills? Let’s get fit and have fun!! No experience necessary! We will cover stretching, cardio warm-ups, waist hooping, simple movement combos and other free flow movement with a hoop to build strength, mobility and endurance. Hoops are provided with the option to purchase. New England based hooper Nikki Hunt has been hooping for a decade and teaching hoop dance for the past six years. As co-founder of the Nikki Hunt Band, she has performed over 1200 shows since 2009 which include concerts, nightclubs, fashion shows, art walks, variety shows, corporate events, weddings and kids events.
